3 Ways Exercising Makes You Better at Everything

What if you thought of exercise and self-care as essential to your everyday existence?

What if you prioritized taking care of yourself, rather than leaving it at the bottom of your To Do List?

What if you put self-care in your 3 MITs (Most Important Tasks) everyday??

I have learned over the last 5 years being a Fitness Professional and working with hundreds of women, teaching hundreds of classes, and even starting my own on my fitness company - that when you prioritize your health and wellness everything in your life gets better. And I’m not exaggerating. I’m totally 100% serious. Everything gets better!

You maybe asking, how can that be? How can exercising help me be a better mom? Or a better entrepreneur? Or a better person? Well here’s why…

3 Ways Exercising Makes You Better at Everything

1. Exercising Gives You ENERGY.

Yes, obviously it takes energy to exercise, however exercising actually creates more energy. How? When you exercise your heart rate goes up, your blood flow increases and as a result your body releases healthy, energy-boosting endorphins.

This means you will have more energy to do everything else that you want/need to do throughout the day, which will help with: being productive at work, going food shopping, taking care of the kids, working on that big presentation, landing the big sale, networking and meeting new people, and everything else you need to do each and every day.

So when you feel as though you don’t have enough energy to work out, remind yourself of the simple fact that by exercising you’ll actually create and have more energy.

2. Exercising Gives You CLARITY.

Having a bad day? Stuck on a problem? Angry about something? Or just feeling in a funk? All of these problems can be improved, and maybe even solved, by exercising!

How? Exercising increases blood flow which causes more oxygen to go to your brain and that elevates serotonin and helps your brain perform better. Also, when you’re working up a sweat your hippocampus (the part of the brain critical for memory and learning) is highly active, which then improves your cognitive functions, spatial learning, and boosts awareness and understanding.

This means that by exercising you can actually think more clearly and be less weighed down or stuck on negativity and mental blockages. I think we can all agree that this would be helpful in every area of your life, right?!

So when you’re feeling stuck don’t keep banging your head up against the wall (figuratively of course); instead, get up and get moving!

3. Exercising Gives You CONFIDENCE.

I know first hand that after running, going to a boxing class, or doing a Grounded Warrior workout I feel ready to take on the world. I feel strong, capable, invincible and empowered - and those feelings stay with me all day long! Those feelings help me feel more confident in every meeting, training session, networking event, and situation that I find myself in.

Why? Well first of all, exercising releases feel-good chemicals in the brain (dopamine and endorphins) and that helps regulate stress hormones (like cortisol and adrenaline). Then, every time you workout you are accomplishing something and that boosts your self-esteem and helps you have a more positive self-image. Therefore, less stress and more self confidence!

So, do you want that promotion? Want to feel like Beyonce when you’re giving the big presentation? Want to feel confident mentally and physically each and everyday? Then exercise!

Get sweaty and strong and feel accomplished - then you’re ready to take on the world. Energized, clear and confident.

Thank you Exercise!
