I think we can all agree that the holiday season can be overwhelming. So today we have a very simple yet powerful suggestion for you:
Take it one step at a time. Focus on one thing at a time. Don't try to do everything at once.
Between regular work stuff, wrapping up for the end of the year, preparing for a new year, and getting ready for holidays (gift buying, meal prepping, party planning, cleaning, etc), this time of the year can make even the most calm yogi feel overwhelmed and stressed out.
When you notice yourself starting to spiral (aka, allowing your thoughts to go go go in a circle that just makes you feel worse) we suggest:
- Stop what you're doing
- Take 3 deep breaths
- Create a list of everything you need to do
- Choose 1 thing to do and do it
- Repeat #4 working through your list with clear focus
These steps can help you stop spiraling, create clarity, and refocus on one thing at a time so that you stop being overwhelmed and start being productive.
Multi-tasking is the opportunity to screw up more than one thing at a time. - Unknown
